It’s easy to forget the weight of Memorial Day. We are surrounded by Memorial Day sales and the celebration of Memorial Day as “the unofficial start of summer.” But Memorial Day is far more than this. On Memorial Day, we remember that our freedom has a cost. Countless men and women have lost their lives defending our country, beginning with the American Revolutionary War; and they are still risking their lives today.

This weekend, may we take the time to reflect on the things we take for granted, and thank God that we have the freedoms we do. May we honor the fallen and continue to work for liberty and justice for all. Our Memorial Day Weekend service of worship will take place Sunday at 10 a.m. ~ we hope to see you there!
