March Madness Hymn Tournament: The Finals

We are down to two hymns! This week, “Here I Am, Lord” upset “Amazing Grace” 29-20 to take the title of Best in Hymnal, while “Oceans” topped “We Are (Light of the World)” 23-22, to take the title of Best Modern Christian Song. The finals will be held on Palm Sunday as #2 seed “Here I Am, Lord” takes on #6 seed “Oceans” for the title of Favorite Hymn!

We have a great music program at the Centerport UMC, led by Music Director Joe Ferrante. During the school year, we are blessed with a faith-filled choir, and during the summer we enjoy guest appearances by local musicians. Our church band, Leap of Faith, leads the services once a month. Worshippers can expect a blend of traditional and contemporary, ranging from classic hymns to the latest worship songs as heard on Air 1 and K-Love radio, along with occasional pop, rock and reggae!
