The Centerport United Methodist Church has two Sunday School classes, a Confirmation Class and a youth group!

Our Sunday School is led by Megan Ferrante and meets on Sundays during the school year. The children are invited to come forward for the Children’s Message early in worship and are then invited to Sunday School. The main class is younger, from toddlers to middle elementary school, and meets in the Sunday School room. There is always at least one adult helper apart from Megan. The older class (middle school and up) meets across the hallway and is led by Paul, John and Ted. On Communion Sundays (the first Sunday of every month) children and youth are invited to head straight to the classrooms at the beginning of worship, and are later brought into the worship service to share communion.

Confirmation Class is for youth seventh grade and up. The fall schedule is as follows: on Sundays, October 18, November 1, November 8, November 22 and December 6 Confirmation Class meets at 5 p.m. and is followed by dinner at 6 and youth group from 6:30-7:30. We are sharing Confirmation Class and Youth Group with St. Paul’s this year. Confirmands are invited to stay for dinner and Youth Group, while other Youth Group attendees are invited to come early for dinner and stay for Youth Group. Pastor Rich will lead both this semester. Confirmation Day is Pentecost Sunday, May 16, 2027.

Youth Group is open to all youth 6th-12th grade. Pastor Rich, Rick, Dana and Drew are the adult leaders. Youth Group offers a mixture of programs, games and outreach activities. Fall’s topics include Trust, Power & Greed, Windows & Mirrors, Take Every Thought Captive, UM Navy (so as not to infringe on the copyright of UM Army!) and the annual Christmas party with caroling. This last program will likely take place on December 20 (when there is no Confirmation Class).

See you Sunday!
